Psychological Therapy in Sydney
A genuine, collaborative approach to psychological support
Everyone faces challenges that affect their wellbeing, relationships, or daily life. Psychological therapy offers a safe, supportive space to explore these challenges, learn coping skills, and work towards personal goals.
I offer psychological therapy in Sydney, working with clients of all ages—children, adolescents, and adults. Together, we address stress, anxiety, low mood, life transitions, and relationship difficulties. Therapy is tailored to each individual using evidence-based approaches.
Some of the approaches I use include:
-
Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) – helps change unhelpful thoughts and behaviours.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) – builds psychological flexibility and focuses on meaningful goals.
-
Mindfulness-Based Strategies – supports stress management, emotion regulation, and wellbeing.
-
Solution-Focused Approaches – identifies practical solutions to achieve personal goals.
-
Schema Therapy – addresses long-standing patterns in thinking, feeling, and behaviour, often rooted in early experiences. It helps improve emotional wellbeing and relationships.
I base my work on empathy, genuineness, and respect, creating a safe space where clients feel understood and supported in making positive changes.
Whether you are managing everyday stress, navigating life transitions, or seeking strategies to improve emotional health, I can help you explore options and find the right path forward.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I get a rebate for therapy sessions?
If you have been referred by your GP and they have given you a Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP) then you are eligible for a Medicare rebate. Medicare will reimburse $98.95 per session. You are eligible for 10 Psychological Therapy session rebates per calendar year if you have an MHCP referral from your GP. If you have reached the Medicare Safety Net amount, you may be rebated 80-100% of the total fee.
If you do not have a referral from your GP, you may be rebated by your Private Health Fund depending on your level of cover. Medicare does not allow you to claim both a Medicare rebate and a Private Health Fund rebate.
How often do I need to come and how long will I need therapy for?
Frequency of sessions and length of therapy is dependent upon a range of factors, including the nature of the presenting issues and severity. Whilst some people may benefit from a short treatment plan (e.g. 6 sessions), most people will require a longer treatment plan. Please discuss this with me in your initial appointment.
